Painter and art teacher Eliza Stimpson is based between London and Suffolk making oil paintings which form an integral part of her practice with subjectivity ranging from botanical specimens to wildflower scenes and landscapes. Predominantly, the background is removed; allowing the painterly forms to float upon the surface- portraits in themselves. 

Eliza has been creating studies and compositions of seaweed for a few years now, focusing on their delicate yet energetic nature. She has collected and photographed seaweed and shells from her travels to many countries across the globe but most recently, has been inspired by the shoreline of the Suffolk coast.  

Her recent studies have incorporated marbling techniques and more playful backgrounds which take you on a journey with abstract compositions reminiscent of aerial views of islands and the myriad of colours and forms we see.
