Aged 16, Gus was introduced to the alchemy of bronze casting by Laurence Edwards, captivating him and leading him to study Fine Art at NUA in 2000. Completing this, Gus moved from Norwich to London working for Sotheby’s until he established a studio and foundry in 2016 in Suffolk. 

Enduring a contemplative approach to his practice, Gus sculpts using materials sampled from his local situation- remnants from a landscape, prehistoric monuments, organic matter and found objects are composited and cast in bronze giving rise to figurative forms.
