‘Solvitur Ambulando’ (solve it by walking) is the motto written on Eileen’s studio cupboard. Walks provide her with material, from scrutiny of botanical detail for watercolour hedgerows to the wider landscape for oils. These landscapes are never a literal view but intend to express her experience of place and the process of painting.

Eileen is an hugely popular East Anglian artist and has also experienced personally, breast cancer.
