Fanie Buys is a South African born, now London-based figurative painter. He exhibits between the UK, Europe and South Africa. Most recently he was the winner of the Abercrombie and Kent prize at the Fulham Road located, prestigious, Green and Stone Gallery Summer show. 

Holidays and the study of people are a sort of abstract concept to Fanie and throughout his career so far other people’s holiday photographs taken from unsuspecting albums have been a fascination and inspiration for his work, so he can participate in a memory that is not quite his own, creating collections of richly coloured and textured holiday stories.
